Dynamo LED Displays installed more than 60 square metres of LED in an international sports retailer’s store in Dubai. The focal point is a curved 3.9mm LED ring of 58 cabinets, 500 mm wide by 512.5 mm high, arranged 29 wide by 2 high above the central footwear podium, built from Dynamo’s curving cabinets with magnetic front-service modules.

The brief: a centrepiece for a flagship sports store
The store is laid out around a central footwear podium, and the retailer wanted something above it that would pull shoppers in from the entrance and give the campaign content a stage. A flat LED video wall on one wall would not have done that. Dynamo proposed a continuous ring of LED suspended over the podium, visible from every aisle, with further LED tickers and headers around the floor.

A 3.9mm ring of 29 × 2 curving cabinets
The ring is built from 3.9mm cabinets measuring 500 mm wide by 512.5 mm high, 29 around and 2 high. Dynamo’s curving cabinets hinge at the middle and at each end, so each one can be set to a convex or concave angle of up to 15 degrees per 500 mm. Set to a little over 12 degrees each, the 29 cabinets close into a full circle, giving one continuous curved picture around the whole ring.
Fast to fit, fast to service
The cabinets connect and lock to each other without tools, which kept the time on a live shop floor short. The LED modules are magnetic and lift off the front, and the receiver card and power supplies at the back are quick-release, so a module or a power supply can be swapped in minutes without taking the ring apart. The same cabinet family is available from 3mm pitch upwards.
More than 60 m² across the store
The ring is the focal point, but the store carries more than 60 m² of LED in total, including LED tickers that run brand messages along the fixtures. The video above shows the ring and the tickers playing together. Content runs from a central player so a campaign change reaches every screen at once.

Curved LED displays in retail: frequently asked questions
How is a curved LED display built?
Either from cabinets that hinge to a set angle, from flexible modules fixed to a curved frame, or from flat modules faceted in small steps around the curve. The Dubai ring used hinged 500 mm cabinets set to just over 12 degrees each, so 29 of them close into a circle. The method is chosen from the radius, the viewing distance and whether the curve is convex or concave.
What pixel pitch does a curved retail display need?
Match the pitch to the closest viewing distance. A ring or header above head height, read from a few metres away across a shop floor, works at 2.5mm to 3.9mm. A curved screen that customers stand next to, such as a column or a counter front, needs 1.9mm or finer so the picture stays sharp at arm’s length.
Can a curved LED screen form a complete circle?
Yes, if the cabinet or module angle divides evenly into 360 degrees and the frame carries the load. The Dubai ring is 29 cabinets of 500 mm, each set to a little over 12 degrees. Flexible modules make smaller circles and columns possible, down to a radius measured in tens of centimetres.
How is a suspended LED ring maintained?
From the front. Magnetic modules lift off the face of the cabinet, and the receiver card and power supplies behind are quick-release, so a fault is fixed from a platform under the ring without dismantling it. Spare modules are kept on site, and the system reports a failed module or power supply to the operator.
