DSK Series at a glance: Dynamo Skin, a hidden LED screen. A decorative finish panel in marble, wood veneer, concrete, metal, textile, gemstone, fabric, pattern or mirror clips over a 500 × 500 mm fine-pitch LED cabinet. Switched off, it is a wall, a counter or a floor. Switched on, the picture comes through the finish. Six pixel pitches from 1.25 mm to 3.9 mm, serviced from the front, for permanent interior installations.

What is a hidden LED screen?
A hidden LED screen is an LED display with a real-looking architectural finish on its face. When the screen is off, the surface reads as a solid wall, counter or floor in that finish: a marble reception wall, a timber-clad bar front, a brushed-metal column, a concrete desk. When the screen is on, the LED picture comes through the finish and the surface becomes a display. The DSK Series is Dynamo’s hidden LED screen range, and it sits in our custom LED displays family alongside the LED art display and the mirror LED display, which are the right products when the brief is a bare fine-pitch canvas or a mirror rather than a disguised wall.

How the DSK Series works
Each DSK Series screen is two parts supplied as one system. The LED is a 500 × 500 × 55 mm fine-pitch cabinet from our DRX Series, built from four 250 × 250 mm modules and weighing 9.2 kg. The finish is a thin decorative panel made to the same 250 mm module grid, in 250 × 250, 500 × 500 or 500 × 1,000 mm sizes, that clips over the face of the cabinet. The LED pixels sit directly behind the finish layer, so the picture reads cleanly through it, and the finish continues over plain backing panels around the live area so the whole surface reads as one.

The result is a wall that does both jobs. The same bar counter below is shown switched on, with content running through a marble finish, and switched off with one finish panel lifted to show the LED module behind it.

Finishes: 61 catalogue finishes, mirror, or your own surface
The finish panels come in eight families: wood veneer (11 finishes), marble (11), concrete (9), metal (8), textile (6), gemstone (5), fabric (6) and pattern (5), plus a mirror finish in a choice of colours (black as standard) and a custom surface printed to your own artwork. Finishes can be mixed across one wall, and panels with and without LED behind them share the same finish. We supply physical samples before a specification is fixed: a printed finish is a reproduction of the material, not the material itself, and the on-screen swatches below will differ from the finished panel.
Three catalogue swatches from each of the eight finish families. Samples on request.

Panel sizes and how they tile
S · 250 × 250 mm
The standard finish panel, the same size as one LED module. Four cover a 500 × 500 mm cabinet, which is how mixed finishes and fine detail are set out across a wall.
M · 500 × 500 mm
One panel covers one cabinet, for fewer joints across a plain finish such as marble or concrete.
L · 500 × 1,000 mm
One panel covers two cabinets stacked or side by side, for long runs such as a bar front or a lift-lobby wall. Other sizes are made to order for a specific design, and the gemstone finishes G02, G04 and G05 are made in all three standard sizes.
The LED behind is always sized in whole 500 × 500 mm cabinets, so a screen is a multiple of 500 mm in each direction. Where the design needs the finish to carry on past the live area, plain backing panels in the same finish take it to the edge of the wall.
Pixel pitch: specified to the viewing distance
All six pitches share the same cabinet, so the pitch can be chosen late in the design. Choose 1.25 mm or 1.56 mm for a bar front or a desk read from arm’s length, 1.95 mm to 2.6 mm for a feature wall across a room, and 2.97 mm or 3.9 mm for a wall read from across a lobby or a gym floor. Our pixel pitch guide explains how viewing distance drives the choice. Module and cabinet pixels are derived from the pitch; brightness figures are for the LED cabinet before the finish layer and the running level is set to the room at commissioning.

Installation: wall profile, frame, hanging, stacking or LED floor
Wall profile
Aluminium profiles are fixed to the wall, the LED cabinets hang on them and lock with a screw, and the finish panels clip over the face. Light and quick, and the way an LED screen is hidden inside a patterned wall that already exists.
Frame connection
Cabinets, or a frame with cover plates, are built into a free-standing form such as a bar counter or an art wall, with the finish continuing over the plates so the whole piece reads as one surface. The catalogue bar counter is 6 m long, 1.5 m high and 1 m deep with the LED in its front face.
Hanging and stacking
The cabinet can also be hung or stacked, for a suspended feature or a floor-standing wall where the structure allows.
LED floor
With the LED floor cabinet the same finish system becomes a floor: a stone-finish floor that comes to life for an event or a brand moment. For a permanent interactive floor without a finish layer, see our LED screen floor.
Tray extension
A shelf in the same finish fixes across the panel for a sample wall or a product display: shoes, bags, laptops or perfume, with the picture running behind them.

Front service
A suction cup lifts the finish panel and the LED module off the face of the cabinet. The control unit behind them, which holds the power supply, hub and receiving card in one piece, is released from the cabinet frame with a screwdriver and lifted out from the front. No access is needed behind the wall, so the screen can sit flush in a wall lining or inside a counter, and a fault is cleared by swapping the module or the unit and refitting the finish panel.

DSK Series hidden LED screen: frequently asked questions
What does DSK stand for?
Dynamo Skin. It is the name of our hidden LED screen range: a fine-pitch LED cabinet with a decorative finish panel over its face, so the screen reads as marble, wood, concrete, metal or another surface when it is off.
What is a hidden LED screen?
A hidden LED screen is an LED display with an architectural finish on its face. Switched off, the surface reads as a solid wall, counter or floor in that finish. Switched on, the LED picture comes through the finish and the surface becomes a display. It is different from a transparent LED screen, which you see through, and from a mirror TV, which is a television behind glass.
Which finishes are available?
Sixty-one catalogue finishes across eight families: wood veneer, marble, concrete, metal, textile, gemstone, fabric and pattern, plus a mirror finish in a choice of colours and a custom surface printed to your own artwork. Finishes can be mixed across one wall, and the same finish continues over plain panels around the live area so the whole surface reads as one.
Can the finish match an existing wall?
Often, yes. The custom-pattern option prints the panel to your artwork, so a stone, timber or brick finish can be matched to the surrounding wall. We recommend physical samples before the specification is fixed, because a printed finish is a reproduction of the material rather than the material itself.
What sizes do the finish panels come in, and how do they tile?
Three standard sizes: 250 x 250 mm, 500 x 500 mm and 500 x 1,000 mm, with other sizes to order. The LED cabinet behind is 500 x 500 mm, so four 250 mm panels or one 500 mm panel cover a cabinet, and a 500 x 1,000 mm panel covers two. A screen is a whole number of cabinets in each direction; the finish can carry on past the live area over plain backing panels.
Which pixel pitch should I choose?
It depends on the closest viewing distance. 1.25 mm or 1.56 mm for a bar front or a desk read from arm's length, 1.95 mm to 2.6 mm for a feature wall across a room, 2.97 mm or 3.9 mm for a wall read from across a lobby or a gym floor. The LED cabinet is Dynamo's DRX Series and all six pitches share the same 500 x 500 mm cabinet, so the pitch can be chosen late in the design.
How is it installed?
Most walls use the wall-profile method: aluminium profiles are fixed to the wall, the LED cabinets hang on them and lock with a screw, and the finish panels clip over the face. The cabinets can also be built into a frame for a bar counter or a free-standing art wall, hung, stacked, or laid as an LED floor with the floor cabinet. We survey, install and commission nationwide, or supply to your fit-out contractor with layout drawings.
How is it serviced?
From the front. A suction cup lifts the finish panel and the LED module off the face of the cabinet, and the control unit behind them, which holds the power supply, hub and receiving card, is released from the cabinet frame with a screwdriver. No access is needed behind the wall, which is why the screen can sit flush in a wall lining or inside a counter.
Can a hidden LED screen be used outdoors?
The catalogue shows interior installations and the LED cabinet behind the finish carries its own ingress-protection rating. Whether the finish panels themselves suit an exterior wall is confirmed per project with the manufacturer, so tell us where the screen is going and we will confirm the build before quoting.
Is the Dynamo CMS included?
Yes, for every LED display bought from Dynamo. There is no separate CMS licence fee: you get an account with browser-based upload, scheduling, publishing and playback checks, with logins for your team. The cloud media player it runs through is specified per installation and shown on your quotation. The LED display carries a 3-year return-to-base warranty.
