Dynamo LED Displays installed a 2.08 m × 3.58 m LED tenant board in the reception of Facebook’s London headquarters in 2016. The portrait display shows tenant names and messages in any font and at any size, and the screen can be split into up to 10 zones, each running its own text, image or video.

The brief: a tenant directory that changes without a sign-writer
A printed tenant board needs a sign-writer every time a company moves in, moves out or changes its logo. Facebook’s London reception wanted a board that could be updated in minutes, show logos and video as well as names, and still read as part of the architecture rather than a television bolted to the wall. That pointed to a custom LED display built to the size of the wall, with software written for the job.
What Dynamo installed
A 2.08 m × 3.58 m portrait LED display at the entrance
The board stands beside the entrance doors, in the sightline of everyone coming through security. In the photograph it is showing the Dynamo logo above the Facebook wordmark and thumbs-up, and the single-line sign above the reception desk reads 338 Euston Road, Regent’s Place. The portrait format suits a tenant list, which reads top to bottom, and leaves room for a video zone at the base. Our indoor LED display range covers the cabinets Dynamo builds tenant boards from today.
Up to 10 zones from one screen
The software behind the board divides the screen into up to 10 zones. Each zone can hold static or scrolling text in any font and size, an image such as a tenant logo, or a video clip, and each one is scheduled on its own. A building manager can put a welcome message for a visiting client in one zone, the tenant list in another and a safety notice in a third, without touching the rest of the screen. The same approach is used by the LED display CMS Dynamo supplies now.
Why LED rather than LCD for a tenant board
Most reception digital signage is LCD, which comes in fixed panel sizes and struggles against the daylight that floods most glazed receptions. An LED display is built from modules, so it can be made 2.08 m wide and 3.58 m tall to fill the exact wall, and it runs at several times the brightness of a commercial LCD when the lobby is lit by the sun. Our guide to indoor LED brightness for lobbies and receptions explains how many nits a reception needs.
Current Dynamo options for an LED tenant board
A tenant board is read from a few metres away by people walking past, so the pitch needs to render small text cleanly. For an indoor fixed install at 1.9mm the current Dynamo default is the DIT Pro P1.9, with the DX Series as the alternative. The figures below are per 250 × 250 mm module; DIT Pro figures are from the supplier specification and DX figures from the DX Series datasheet.
| Model | Pixel pitch | Pixels per 250 × 250 mm module | Brightness | Suited to |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DIT Pro P1.9 | 1.95mm | 128 × 128 px | 600 nits | Tenant lists and logos read from 2 m to 3 m, front-service modules in a slim 33 mm cabinet |
| DX2.5 | 2.5mm | 100 × 100 px | 800 nits or more | Brighter glazed receptions and boards read from 3 m or more |
| DX3.9 | 3.9mm | 64 × 64 px | 800 nits or more | Large atrium boards read from across the hall |
Dynamo’s Euston Road tenant board, installed in 2016, was upgraded in 2025 from a 10mm display to a 2.5mm one behind tinted glass, with a cloud CMS for remote updates. The pixel pitch guide explains how to pick a pitch from the viewing distance.

LED tenant boards: frequently asked questions
What is an LED tenant board?
An LED tenant board is a digital version of the directory in an office reception that lists the companies in the building. It is built from LED modules to the size of the wall, shows names, logos, video and notices, and is updated from a computer rather than by a sign-writer. Dynamo installed one for Facebook’s London headquarters in 2016 and has built them for multi-tenant buildings since.
How is a digital tenant board updated?
From a PC on the building network or through a cloud content management system. The operator types the tenant name, picks the font and size, drops in a logo or video and schedules when it shows. The Facebook board splits into up to 10 zones, each changed on its own, so a new tenant can be added without rebuilding the whole screen. Updates take minutes.
What pixel pitch does an LED tenant board need?
Match it to how close people stand. In a reception where visitors read the board from 2 m to 3 m, 1.9mm to 2.5mm renders small text and logos cleanly. A board read from across an atrium can use 3.9mm. Coarser pitches were common on tenant boards a decade ago; Dynamo’s Euston Road board went from 10mm to 2.5mm when it was upgraded in 2025.
Can a tenant board show video and logos as well as names?
Yes. Each zone of the Facebook board can show text, an image or a video clip, so the tenant list can sit above a looping video of the building or a tenant’s own advert. Logos are loaded as image files and shown at full colour. A single-colour text sign cannot do this, which is the main reason buildings choose a full-colour LED board.
How big can an LED tenant board be?
Any size the wall allows, in portrait or landscape. The Facebook board is 2.08 m × 3.58 m in portrait. LED displays are assembled from modules and cabinets, so the board can be a slim column beside a lift lobby or a full wall behind the reception desk, and corners and curves are possible with the right product. Power and data run to a small controller behind or near the screen.
