LED Art Display — Fine-Pitch Canvases for Artists, Galleries and Luxury Brands
An LED art display is a creative medium, not a product category. Dynamo LED Displays works with artists, galleries, event producers, luxury brands and experiential designers to deliver LED canvases, bespoke shapes and raw modules that become the artwork. From fine-pitch gallery-grade panels with broadcast-level colour accuracy, to raw pixel modules integrated into sculptural pieces, to custom-shaped volumes wrapping pillars and ceilings — we specify, build and install the hardware that brings extraordinary creative visions to life.
We’ve delivered LED art installations for Louis Vuitton, Sotheby’s, Aldar Properties, British Land, and Turner Prize-winning artists including Mark Leckey. Every project is led by technical specialists who understand what artists actually need: true-to-life colour, deep blacks, seamless joins, off-angle viewing performance, and — crucially — hardware that sits in service of the concept rather than competing with it.
Case Study — Louis Vuitton x Kusama at Harrods, London
For the Louis Vuitton x Kusama collaboration at Harrods, Dynamo supplied indoor LED mirror screens and bespoke LED window displays that turned the Knightsbridge frontage into a living extension of Yayoi Kusama’s artistic vision. A high-contrast resin coating applied to every display ensured the animated Louis Vuitton content remained crisp and vivid even under direct sunlight and the store’s own high-brightness retail lighting — colours popped from extreme viewing angles and the reflective mirror screens added a signature layer of interplay between artwork, viewer and product. The result was one of the most-talked-about fashion installations of the year, drawing crowds and press coverage across the UK. The project demonstrates exactly why luxury brands turn to LED when print, projection and static installation can’t deliver the emotional impact they need.
Case Study — Sotheby’s International Realty, Knightsbridge
For United Kingdom Sotheby’s International Realty’s flagship at One Hyde Park, Knightsbridge, we designed and installed a 6-metre-wide LED video wall built from DX Series 2.6mm panels — 2,304 × 768 pixels at 3,500 nits, delivering crisp imagery even through a sun-facing shopfront window. The display broadcasts luxury real-estate videos, high-definition property imagery and brand content alongside Diriyah House Experience Centre cultural storytelling. The LED cabinets are suspended from original rigging points once used to hold a Formula 1 race car when the space was a McLaren showroom — a clever reuse that let us integrate the screen seamlessly into an architecturally sensitive space. When off, the display reads as a discreet black panel; when on, it becomes a dynamic digital centrepiece that complements Harlequin Design’s refined interior.
Case Study — Aldar Properties Westminster Tower Marketing Suite, Mayfair
For Aldar Properties, London Square and SODIC’s Westminster Tower development, Dynamo designed and installed a permanent L-shaped LED video wall spanning 9.424m × 4.424m plus 2.480m high — built from DEX Series 2.06mm fine-pitch panels and controlled via iPad from a NovaStar MX40 processor. The installation replaced a Mayfair marketing-suite corner that faced a brick wall opposite with floor-to-ceiling photorealistic panoramas of the London skyline, letting prospective buyers experience Thames-side views from their future Westminster Tower apartment before the building completes. 35–40 curated scenes cycle from daytime to dusk to night, and the LED panels sit behind bespoke dark-stained timber window surrounds so they read as genuine windows at conversational distance. The project grew directly from a previous Dynamo rental installation for British Land at Printworks London, proving how bespoke LED art installations can anchor long-term client relationships across property, retail and luxury.
Raw Modules for Artist-Led Integration
For artists who want to integrate LED technology directly into sculptural work, we supply raw modules stripped of the decorative trim, frames and factory assumptions that dominate commercial signage. You receive the modules, drivers, receiver cards and control gear; we supply technical drawings, wiring schematics and remote support through the build. Pixel pitches range from 1.5mm for close-viewing gallery work up to 10mm for architectural and outdoor installations. Every module set is tested, calibrated and delivered with spares.
This approach suits artists building one-off pieces, collaborators who want full creative control over the physical form, and fabricators integrating LED into bespoke joinery, metalwork or sculpture. It also suits design studios creating site-specific installations where the LED has to disappear into the architecture rather than sit in a branded cabinet.
Gallery-Grade Fine Pitch for Colour-Critical Work
For gallery and fine-art applications, where the LED is the artwork, we specify fine-pitch panels with colour-accurate calibration, deep blacks, high dynamic range support and seamless modular joins. Typical gallery installations use 1.2mm to 1.9mm pitch panels. Every panel is individually colour-calibrated at the pixel level, so large tiled walls read as a single continuous canvas without visible seams or brightness variation between modules. For installations where viewers may stand within a metre of the display, fine-pitch matters: coarser panels break the illusion at close quarters.

Custom Shapes — LED That Follows the Concept
Rectangular screens are only the starting point. Our engineering team specialises in custom LED geometry: curved walls that wrap behind sculptural installations, cylindrical pillars that turn architectural columns into digital canvases, L-shaped corners that eliminate spatial boundaries, interactive floors that respond to footsteps, and bespoke cubes, hexagons and organic forms for brand activations and artistic expression. Every custom shape is prototyped, calibrated and signed off before install, with on-site technical support through build and through the exhibition run.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you build an LED art display in a custom shape, not just a rectangle?
Yes — custom geometry is a core part of what we do. We’ve built curved walls, cylinders, L-shaped wrap-arounds, floors, hexagons, interactive cubes and bespoke organic forms. Every custom shape is engineered from first principles using our cabinet library plus custom fabrication, calibrated across the entire surface, and supplied with the control gear and content mapping needed to render the artist’s vision cleanly.
How close can viewers stand to an LED art display without seeing the pixels?
It depends on pixel pitch. As a rule of thumb, the minimum viewing distance in metres is roughly equal to the pixel pitch in millimetres — so a 1.5mm display reads as continuous from 1.5m, a 2.6mm from 2.6m, and so on. For gallery work where viewers may lean in closely, we specify 1.2mm to 1.9mm panels. For larger architectural and event applications where viewers remain further away, 2.6mm to 4.8mm is cost-effective without compromising the experience.
Do you supply raw LED modules to artists, or only complete installations?
Both. For artists integrating LED into sculptural or architectural work, we supply raw modules, drivers, receiver cards and control gear stripped of decorative cabinetry. You get full creative freedom over the physical form; we provide technical support, wiring drawings and commissioning. For turnkey installations, we design, build, install and commission the complete piece including bespoke joinery, mounting structures and content.
How accurate is the colour on a Dynamo LED art display?
Every panel is individually pixel-calibrated at the factory and re-calibrated on install where required. Our gallery-grade fine-pitch displays deliver a wide colour gamut, true-to-life skin tones, deep blacks (enhanced with optional resin coating) and full HDR support on suitable processors. For colour-critical work — fine art reproduction, broadcast XR, luxury brand content — we supply calibration reports and can recalibrate periodically as part of a maintenance contract.
Can the installation be temporary, or is it permanent only?
Both are available. For exhibitions, touring work, events and festivals, we supply rental-grade lightweight cabinets that assemble and strike quickly. For permanent gallery fit-out, luxury retail and marketing suites, we supply fine-pitch cabinets designed for long-term fixed installation with seamless joins and concealed cabling. Many of our most interesting commissions — including the Westminster Tower marketing suite — grew from an initial rental project that proved the concept.
