Aldar Properties & London Square: Immersive LED Marketing Suite in Mayfair for Westminster Tower

Dynamo LED Displays designed and installed a permanent, L-shaped LED video wall across two walls of a Mayfair marketing suite for Westminster Tower โ€” a luxury residential development at 3 Albert Embankment, London, delivered by Aldar Properties, London Square and SODIC. The installation replaced a corner of the room that previously faced a brick wall with floor-to-ceiling photorealistic panoramas of the London skyline, allowing prospective buyers to experience the views from their future apartment before the building completes. This case study covers the brief, technical specification, installation process and lessons for property developers, fitout consultants, interior designers and architects considering an immersive sales suite LED solution.

Key Takeaways

  • L-shaped LED configuration spanning 9.424m ร— 4.424m plus 2.480m high, using DEX Series panels at 2.06mm pixel pitch โ€” fine enough to be almost indistinguishable from real windows at conversational distance.
  • 35โ€“40 curated scenes covering daytime, dusk, evening and night-time London panoramas, plus apartment floor plans โ€” all switchable instantly via iPad.
  • Bespoke timber window surrounds designed and built by Dynamo to match Westminster Towerโ€™s architectural detailing, making the LED panels read as genuine floor-to-ceiling windows.
  • Full installation completed in 3 days โ€” 2 days for the LED build, 1 day for custom joinery.
  • Dual-purpose system: immersive ambience for the sales experience and a practical tool for presenting specific apartment views and layouts during appointments.
  • Inspired by a previous Dynamo rental project for British Land at Printworks London, which demonstrated the concept and led directly to this permanent commission.

The Brief: Selling a View That Doesnโ€™t Exist Yet

Westminster Tower is a landmark residential renovation at 3 Albert Embankment, overlooking the Thames, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the London Eye and Battersea Power Station. The development targets high-net-worth buyers โ€” the kind of purchasers who expect to feel a property before committing. The challenge: the building is still under renovation. There are no finished apartments to walk through. No balcony to stand on. No view to experience. The marketing suite sits on the 3rd floor of a separate building on Bruton Street in Mayfair โ€” a prestigious address, but one where the real windows face a brick building across the street. The existing outlook offered nothing. The brief was to transform that dead corner into something that could emotionally transport buyers to the upper floors of Westminster Tower and show them exactly what they would see from their living room. Dynamo had previously delivered a similar concept as a rental LED installation for British Land at Printworks London (see the British Land Printworks event on YouTube). That project โ€” a temporary immersive environment for a launch event โ€” proved the idea at scale and caught the attention of the Aldar and London Square team. They wanted the same emotional impact, but as a permanent fixture in their dedicated sales environment.

Technical Design: Why Every Specification Decision Mattered

Panel Selection and Pixel Pitch

We specified the DEX Series at 2.06mm pixel pitch. At the viewing distances typical in a marketing suite โ€” 1.5 to 4 metres โ€” a 2.06mm pitch delivers photorealistic image quality without visible pixel structure at normal viewing distances. Buyers standing in the room see a seamless London panorama, not a screen. The L-shaped configuration wraps around two walls: one primary surface measuring 9.424m wide by 2.480m high, and a return wall at 4.424m wide by 2.480m high. This creates a corner panorama that occupies peripheral vision. Buyers donโ€™t look at the display โ€” they look through it, exactly as they would a window.

Processing and Colour Performance

The NovaStar MX40 processor handles the rendering pipeline. Its value here is precise colour calibration across the full L-shaped surface. With two walls meeting at a corner, any inconsistency in white balance, gamma or colour temperature between sections would break the illusion. The MX40 allowed us to tune the entire canvas so it reads as a single, continuous window rather than two joined screens. This level of control matters particularly for content that includes sky gradients, water reflections on the Thames and the warm tones of sunset over Westminster โ€” exactly the kind of scenes that expose poor calibration instantly.

Content Management

The clientโ€™s production company delivered approximately 85 scenes initially. Through testing and refinement in the suite, that was distilled to 35โ€“40 โ€” a focused library covering daytime, dusk, evening and night-time London panoramas from multiple viewpoints corresponding to different apartments and floors within Westminster Tower. The system also displays apartment floor plans and layouts directly on screen. During a sales appointment, an agent can switch from an immersive dusk panorama to a detailed floor plan of a specific unit, then back to the view that unit would enjoy โ€” all controlled via iPad through NovaStar CMS. No laptop, no projector, no delay.

Bespoke Joinery: The Detail That Sells the Illusion

LED panels alone would not have achieved the effect. We contracted a bespoke carpenter to design and build custom timber window surrounds โ€” dark-stained frames that match the architectural language of Westminster Tower itself. The joinery transforms the LED surfaces from โ€œimpressive screensโ€ into โ€œwindows you believe.โ€ This is a detail that separates a custom LED display from a generic video wall. The surrounds establish context. A buyerโ€™s brain sees dark timber mullions, floor-to-ceiling glass and a London skyline โ€” and processes it as a window. The technology disappears. What remains is the view.

Installation: 3 Days From Bare Room to Immersive Sales Environment

The full installation took 3 days. Days one and two covered the LED build: structural framing, panel mounting, cabling and processor configuration. Day three was dedicated to the bespoke joinery โ€” fitting the timber surrounds and finishing. For context, this is a Mayfair building with restricted access hours, lift limitations and the usual constraints of working in a premium central London location. A 3-day programme for a permanent installation of this scale โ€” including bespoke finishing โ€” reflects the preparation that goes into Dynamo projects before we arrive on site. Every panel position, every cable route and every joinery dimension was planned in advance. The transformation is stark. Before photos show a bare room with real windows looking onto a brick wall. After photos show the same room with an immersive London panorama wrapping the corner, a scale model of Westminster Tower in the centre and the entire space functioning as a self-contained story about the development.

How Property Developers Are Using LED in Marketing Suites

This project sits within a growing pattern. We have delivered LED marketing suite installations for property developers across London, and the trend is accelerating for several reasons: Off-plan sales demand emotional proof. Renderings and brochures communicate information. An immersive LED environment communicates feeling. When a buyer stands in a room surrounded by the actual view they are purchasing, the conversion dynamic shifts. They are no longer imagining their future home โ€” they are standing in it. Permanent installations pay for themselves. Unlike LED screen hire for a launch event, a permanent system serves every appointment, every viewing, every investor visit for the entire sales programme. The cost per use drops with every booking. Content flexibility replaces physical limitations. A single LED marketing suite can show the view from any floor, any apartment, at any time of day. Westminster Towerโ€™s 35โ€“40 scenes cover more selling angles than any physical show apartment ever could. We have delivered similar technology-led environments for projects including the digital experience at 40 Leadenhall and Dubai Airport Arrivals, each with its own scale and brief โ€” but the principle is the same: LED as an environment, not just a screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

What pixel pitch is best for an LED marketing suite?

For a marketing suite where viewers stand 1.5โ€“4 metres from the screen, a pixel pitch between 1.5mm and 2.5mm delivers photorealistic quality. We used 2.06mm for this project โ€” fine enough that the pixel structure is invisible at normal viewing distance, while keeping the specification commercially proportionate for the wall area covered.

How long does it take to install a permanent LED video wall?

The Westminster Tower installation took 3 days โ€” 2 for the LED build and 1 for bespoke joinery. Timescales vary with configuration size and site constraints, but most permanent marketing suite installations are completed within 3โ€“5 days once panels arrive on site. Pre-site planning is where the real time investment sits.

Can sales staff control the content without technical support?

Yes. This system runs on NovaStar CMS, controlled via iPad. Sales agents switch between panoramic scenes and floor plan content with a single tap. No specialist operator is required โ€” anyone on the sales team can run it.

What is the difference between a rental and permanent LED installation?

A rental installation is built for a specific event or limited period, then decommissioned. A permanent installation is designed to remain in place for the duration of the sales programme โ€” typically 1โ€“3 years for a residential development. The Westminster Tower system is permanent, with the specification and joinery designed for long-term use. Dynamo delivers both โ€” see our LED screen hire and custom LED display services.

How many content scenes can the system hold?

There is no practical limit. The Westminster Tower system runs 35โ€“40 scenes refined from an initial library of 85. Scenes can be added, removed or updated at any point via the NovaStar CMS. Content typically includes panoramic views from different floors and orientations, time-of-day variations and apartment floor plans or CGI renders.

Does the LED wall produce heat or noise that affects the sales environment?

At this pixel pitch and panel depth, heat output is modest and noise from cooling fans is negligible at conversational distance. The suite operates as a comfortable meeting environment โ€” buyers sit in the room for extended appointments without any perceptible disturbance from the display hardware.

Conclusion

The Westminster Tower marketing suite demonstrates what becomes possible when LED technology is treated as architecture rather than AV equipment. The specification โ€” DEX Series panels, NovaStar MX40 processing, bespoke timber joinery โ€” was driven entirely by the brief: make a buyer feel the view. Three days of installation transformed a room with no outlook into one of the most effective sales tools in the programme. For property developers selling off-plan in competitive markets, it sets a benchmark worth considering: not a screen on a wall, but an environment that does the selling.
