What is a foldable LED poster?
A foldable LED poster is a portrait LED screen in a self-contained cabinet that hinges at mid-height. Open, the Dynamo Foldable LED Poster is 650 mm wide, 2,050 mm high and 45 mm deep, with a 640 × 1,920 mm display area in the 7:21 format of a digital poster. Folded, it is 1,090 mm high and 100 mm thick: a size that goes through a doorway, into a lift, across the back seat of a car or into a flight case without taking anything apart. It stands on a base with four swivel wheels, and the power supply sits in that base rather than behind the LEDs, which keeps the screen cooler and the cabinet thin.

How the Dynamo Foldable LED Poster works
The display is twenty-four 320 × 160 mm SMD 3-in-1 LED modules, two wide and twelve high, screw-fixed into the cabinet. At 1.538 mm that is 208 × 104 pixels per module and 416 × 1,248 pixels across the poster. The module faces are GOB: a resin layer over the LEDs that resists scratches, knocks, splashes and damp (IP54), which is what lets the poster travel between venues without a protective screen. Brightness is 500 to 800 cd/m², grey scale 14 to 16 bit, colour temperature adjustable from 3,200 to 9,000 K, refresh 3,840 Hz and above so it films cleanly on a phone or a broadcast camera.
Opening the poster, a hawk lock and a latch pull the two halves flat to within 0.1 mm, so the join is not visible when the screen is on. The folding edge carries magnetic edge wrapping and positioning pins, which is also how several posters are lined up edge to edge to make one wider screen.

Content: USB stick, phone app, network or HDMI
The poster is delivered assembled and tested, and plays on its own. Load a playlist on a USB stick or send it from the phone app over Wi-Fi in one tap, and the poster loops it with no network and no computer on site (asynchronous playback). Over the network port, the 4G option or the cloud, a group of posters across several sites is managed as one cluster, so the same campaign goes to every shop and is changed from one place. With the HDMI option the poster shows a live source (synchronous playback): a laptop at a conference, a camera for a live-stream background, a presentation on a stage, and HDMI auto-splicing extends one source across several joined posters. Two 10 W speakers are built in, with a 3.5 mm jack for an external amplifier.

Joining posters into a wider screen
One poster is a 640 × 1,920 mm screen. Two side by side make 1,280 × 1,920 mm, three make 1,920 × 1,920 mm, and so on in 640 mm steps. The magnetic edges and positioning pins line the cabinets up and the HDMI auto-splicing spreads one picture across them, so a stand or a stage backdrop can be built from the same stock that works as single posters the rest of the year. What is a foldable LED poster?
A foldable LED poster is a free-standing portrait LED screen built into a cabinet that hinges at mid-height. Open, it is a 640 x 1,920 mm display 2,050 mm tall on a wheeled base. Folded, it is 1,090 mm high and 100 mm thick, so it goes through a doorway, into a lift or into a car or a flight case without any dismantling.
How is the P1.53 different from the P1.86?
Only the pixel pitch and the resolution. The P1.53 has a 1.538 mm pitch and 416 x 1,248 pixels; the P1.86 has a 1.86 mm pitch and 344 x 1,032 pixels. The cabinet, weight, brightness, inputs and speakers are the same. Choose by the closest viewing distance: the P1.53 reads comfortably from 2 m.
Does it need an installer or a technician?
No. The poster is delivered assembled and tested on its base. Open it, lock it with the latch, plug in the mains lead and it starts playing the content loaded on it. No computer, no network and no parameter set-up are needed on site.
How do I put content on it?
From a USB stick, from the phone app over Wi-Fi, or over the network port. With the HDMI option it also shows a live source such as a laptop or a camera feed, and content can be managed remotely for a group of posters over the network, the 4G option or the cloud. The poster plays in a loop on its own (asynchronous) or live from a source (synchronous).
Can several posters be joined into one screen?
Yes. Posters stand edge to edge; the magnetic edge wrapping and positioning pins line them up, and HDMI content splices across the units automatically. Each poster is still its own 640 x 1,920 mm unit, so the joined screen is a multiple of 640 mm wide.
Is it suitable for a shop window or outdoors?
No. Brightness is 500 to 800 cd/m2, which suits a shop floor, a lobby, a stand or a stage indoors. The GOB face is scratch-, knock-, splash- and moisture-resistant (IP54), which is about surviving transport and busy rooms, not weather. For a window facing the sun see our shopfront LED displays.
What does the price include?
The price is per poster, excluding VAT: the P1.53 poster assembled and tested on its wheeled base, with the built-in player, the two 10 W speakers and the mains lead. HDMI and 4G inputs are options and flight cases are sold separately. Every Dynamo LED display carries a 3-year return-to-base warranty.
Which flight case do I need?
One case takes one folded poster; the two-poster case is 135 x 67 x 87 cm and takes two folded posters. Both are sold separately on this site. For hire stock or a touring event we recommend a case per pair of posters.
