Dynamo LED Displays is a UK LED display company that designs, supplies, installs and hires LED video walls and custom LED displays in Manchester and across the North West. Two of our most recognised projects are in the city: the five-zone LED installation at Auto Trader’s Manchester headquarters, an AV Awards 2026 finalist, and the custom LED arch in the directors’ box at the Etihad Stadium.

Our installation engineers are based across the UK, not in one city, so Manchester and the North West are covered by the same nationwide engineer network that delivers every Dynamo project. Design, hardware, installation and warranty sit with one company.

What we deliver in Manchester

Every Manchester project starts with the site, not a product list. The four things we deliver, separately or as one contract:

  • Design. Site survey, pixel pitch and brightness specification from your real viewing distances and ambient light, structural and mounting design, and content mapping for shaped or curved screens.
  • Supply. Our own LED display ranges for fixed installation and for hire, with the processing and control system specified for the pixel canvas you are buying. See the Dynamo LED display range.
  • Installation. Our own engineers install and commission the screen. Where the geometry is complex, mounting frames are fabricated off-site and confirmed before delivery, which is how the Auto Trader ribbon went in on a live fit-out. Details on our LED screen installation services page.

After handover, Dynamo’s standard warranty is 3 years return-to-base and support comes from Dynamo directly. There is no Manchester branch to route through; enquiries, surveys and installations are run by Dynamo.

Auto Trader Manchester HQ: five LED zones, one workplace display system

When Auto Trader moved into its new Manchester headquarters in early 2026, Dynamo supplied, installed and commissioned the LED hardware across five zones, working with creative partner Pixel Artworks.   • LED ribbon: 21,760 × 1,120 mm, P1.86 mm flexible GOB-protected tiles, 11,696 × 602 pixels, curving on two planes at once above the café and social space, in a custom steel frame fabricated off-site.
  • LED halo ticker: 17,920 × 320 mm, P1.86 mm, 9,632 × 172 pixels, suspended above the car turntable and carrying live listing statistics from Auto Trader’s own platform.
  • LED plinth: 15,360 mm long with a variable 160 to 800 mm face, P1.86 mm, 8,256 × 688 pixels, wrapping the turntable.
  • Two LED walls: 2,500 × 2,500 mm each, P1.9 mm GOB-protected DX Series, 1,280 × 1,280 pixels, one integrated with an AI camera system for an interactive experience.
  • Control: NovaStar MCTRL4K and VX600 Pro processing with Hive media servers; the ribbon runs as one continuous 11,696 × 602 pixel canvas.

Installation on site took just under two weeks in January 2026 because the frames and control design were resolved before delivery. The project is a finalist in Corporate Project of the Year at the AV Awards 2026; see the AV Awards 2026 finalist announcement.

Manchester City directors’ box: a custom LED arch at the Etihad Stadium

For the Etisalat directors’ box at the Etihad Stadium, Dynamo built a custom LED arch from 2 mm pixel pitch LED. The display measures 8 m × 1.92 m with a resolution of 4,000 × 960 pixels, and shows live feeds from the match alongside content produced for the box’s guests. Shaped screens like this come from the same design-and-fabrication route as the Auto Trader ribbon: the structure is engineered first, then the LED is built to it. More examples are on our custom LED displays page.

LED display ranges by use case

We specify from our own product ranges, matched to how and where the screen will be viewed. The ranges below are the ones most Manchester enquiries land on.

Fixed indoor video walls: receptions, boardrooms, showrooms and retail

DFC Series flip-chip COB for close viewing: 1.58 mm and 1.9 mm pixel pitches, 3,840 Hz refresh rate, 600 to 1,500 nits on the 1.58 mm model and 600 to 1,000 nits on the 1.9 mm, in a die-cast aluminium cabinet 37 mm deep (40 mm for the double-height cabinet) with dual power and receiving-card backup. DX Series SMD for the wider run of fixed installations: pixel pitches from 1.9 mm to 5.9 mm, 250 × 250 mm modules, cabinet sizes from 500 × 250 mm up to 500 × 1,000 mm, 800 nits or more on every model except the 5.9 mm (600 to 800 nits), front serviceable, with seamless right-angle corners. Curved, shaped and architectural LED

Compound curves cannot be made from rigid cabinets. For ribbons, halos, plinths and column wraps we use flexible GOB-protected LED tiles on custom-fabricated frames, as at Auto Trader; shaped displays such as the Etihad arch are built to an engineered structure in the same way. The frame is engineered before the panels are ordered, and content is mapped to the physical shape before commissioning.

Hire and events: conferences, exhibitions and hospitality

DRE Series is our exhibition and rental range: 496 × 496 mm cabinets at 9.2 kg per panel, indoor pixel pitches of 1.55 mm, 1.93 mm and 2.58 mm at over 800 nits, and outdoor versions from 1.55 mm to 3.875 mm at over 3,500 nits with IP65 front protection. Outdoor and high-brightness

Shopfronts, facades and outdoor advertising need higher brightness and weather protection, which is specified per site from our outdoor LED displays range after a survey of the aspect and ambient light.

How a Manchester LED project runs

The sequence is the same whether the screen is a boardroom wall in Spinningfields or a shaped installation in a stadium suite.

  1. Survey. An engineer visits the site to measure viewing distances, ambient light, wall or structure condition, power and data routes, and access for installation.
  2. Specification. We propose pixel pitch, size, brightness, cabinet layout, processor and mounting method, with the resolution derived from the actual module and cabinet count, and put the structural and electrical responsibilities in writing.
  3. Build. Panels are configured and mounting frames fabricated off-site. For curved or shaped screens the frame geometry is signed off before anything is delivered, because changes to the structure on site are what break a programme.
  4. Installation. Our nationwide engineers fit the structure, hang and align the cabinets, and connect power and data, coordinating with the main contractor when the site is a live fit-out.
  5. Commissioning. Processor configuration, calibration, content alignment to the physical screen, and handover training. Every screen bought from Dynamo comes with Dynamo CMS, our cloud content management system, free.

What pixel pitch do I need for a reception or showroom in Manchester?

It depends on the nearest viewing distance and the content. For close viewing in a reception, boardroom or showroom we usually specify fine pitch from the DFC Series at 1.58 mm or 1.9 mm, or DX Series from 1.9 mm upwards. The survey measures your real viewing positions and the specification derives the screen resolution from the module and cabinet count.

Who installs the screen, and what support do I get afterwards?

Dynamo’s own engineers install and commission every screen, with mounting frames fabricated off-site where the geometry needs it. The standard warranty is 3 years return-to-base, Dynamo CMS is included free with every screen bought from Dynamo, and support comes from Dynamo directly.
